CSC offers free online course in cybersecurity for students

Common Service Centres (CSC) has initiated a program – a free Online Cybersecurity Course. This program comes under Digital India and Transforming India Initiative. This course aims to help students to increase their knowledge about cybersecurity and safeguard themselves from online traps.
In this COVID-19 period, World is getting more digital than before, more number of people are switching to online media. The fact of the matter is the world is increasingly reliant on technology.

Common Service Centres are physical facilities for delivering the Government of India e-Services to rural and remote locations where availability of computers and the Internet was negligible or mostly absent. 

Cybersecurity is the process of protecting and recovering computer systems, networks, devices, and programs from any type of cyber attack. Cyber attacks are an increasingly sophisticated and evolving danger to your sensitive data, as attackers use new methods to circumvent traditional security controls.

The course is available until August 12. However, it is mandatory for students that he/she must be studying in class 6 or above.

The course will cover following topics –

  • Cybersecurity basic threats and vulnerabilities
  • Additional threats and vulnerabilities
  • Exploitation: Threats and vulnerabilities
  • New trends in cyber threats and attacks
  • The functioning of the internet and network layers
  • Calculations – computation – communication
  • Essentials of cybersecurity and security concept
