“The information we have received suggests the possible involvement of the Crown Prince in surveillance of Mr. Bezos, to influence, if not silence, the Washington Post’s reporting on Saudi Arabia,” Agnes Callamard and David Kaye, the two UN special rapporteurs, said in a statement. Bezos and Bin Salman met at a dinner in Los Angeles in 2018 and exchanged numbers. Saudi denied the fact and called it absurd.”Recent media reports that suggest the Kingdom is behind the hacking of Mr. Jeff Bezos’s phone are absurd. We call for an investigation on these claims so that we can have all the facts out.” tweet from the Saudi Embassy.
